Volume Serial Number Editor Command Line is a Windows utility that views and changes the volume serial number of a disk. The volume serial number is the XXXX-XXXX identifier the operating system generates and assigns to a disk volume when it is formatted. Normally there is no supported way to change it without reformatting the volume; this tool changes it directly. A command-line edition for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows for scripting and automation. It works across the common Windows file systems, NTFS, FAT, FAT32 and exFAT, including removable media.
